Artist Statement
I love to create things. I have experimented with oils, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, paper craft, quilling, and polymer clay. I find both bold colors and earth tones appealing and I enjoy the depth and texture that can be achieved with polymer clay. I have drawn and painted for as long as I can remember.
My work is strongly influence by my family and my love of music. Many of my abstract and tile pieces are created and inspired by certain songs or even specific lyrics. My children also inspire me. Several of my pieces feature my son or daughter (or both) in whimsical, fairy tale settings. Being able to express my love for my children in my work is a source of joy for me.
Currently, I am working primarily with polymer clay. However, I also love to do watercolor and ink pieces and I very much enjoy experimenting with mixed media.
